Assay PrincipleThis assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Amonoclonal antibody specific for human IL-10 has been immobilized onto microwells, and two pellets of the biotin-linked detect antibody specific for IL-10 (light yellow) and streptavidin-HRP (purple) are pre-placed in the microwells, sealed by the adhesive film. Standard or samples are pipetted intothe wells, then IL-10 present is bound by the immobilized antibody and detect antibody, of whichthe latter is conjugated with streptavidin-HRP in the incubation. After washing, substrate solutionreacts with HRP and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-10 bound by the immobilized antibody. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measuredby microplate reader

Human IL10 Predicted Functions

Enables protein dimerization activity. Involved in several processes, including negative regulation of cellular catabolic process; regulation of gene expression; and regulation of signal transduction. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including negative regulation of B cell proliferation; positive regulation of B cell apoptotic process; and positive regulation of signaling receptor activity. Located in extracellular space. Implicated in several diseases, including artery disease (multiple); autoimmune disease (multiple); eye disease (multiple); gastrointestinal system cancer (multiple); and hematologic cancer (multiple). Biomarker of several diseases, including autoimmune disease (multiple); diabetes mellitus (multiple); eye disease (multiple); female reproductive organ cancer (multiple); and hematologic cancer (multiple).

Mouse Il10 Target Information

Mouse Il10 Predicted Functions

Enables cytokine activity. Involved in several processes, including negative regulation of cell death; negative regulation of heterotypic cell-cell adhesion; and negative regulation of vascular associated smooth muscle cell proliferation. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including cellular response to hepatocyte growth factor stimulus; negative regulation of cytokine production; and response to bacterium. Located in extracellular space. Is expressed in colon; liver; thymus; and thymus primordium. Used to study inflammatory bowel disease. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including artery disease (multiple); autoimmune disease (multiple); eye disease (multiple); gastrointestinal system cancer (multiple); and hematologic cancer (multiple). Orthologous to human IL10 (interleukin 10).

Rat Il10 Target Information

Rat Il10 Predicted Functions

Enables interleukin-10 receptor binding activity. Involved in several processes, including cellular response to estradiol stimulus; liver regeneration; and negative regulation of nitric oxide biosynthetic process. Located in extracellular space. Used to study several diseases, including lung disease (multiple); perinatal necrotizing enterocolitis; sciatic neuropathy; toxic encephalopathy; and transient cerebral ischemia. Biomarker of several diseases, including artery disease (multiple); decubitus ulcer; lung disease (multiple); obstructive sleep apnea; and postpartum depression. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including artery disease (multiple); autoimmune disease (multiple); eye disease (multiple); gastrointestinal system cancer (multiple); and hematologic cancer (multiple).
