Describtion

This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique for the quantitative detection of human OSMR. The Human OSMR ELISA is for research use only. Not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Oncostatin-M-specific receptor subunit beta, also known as OSMR, is a member of the type I cytokine receptor family. OSMR contains four fibronectin type-III domains and is expressed at relatively high levels in all neural cells as well as fibroblast, epithelial and a variety of tumor celllines.
This protein heterodimerizes with interleukin 6 signal transducer to form the type II oncostatin M receptor and with interleukin 31 receptor A to form the interleukin 31 receptor, and thus transduces oncostatin M and interleukin 31 induced signaling events. Defects in OSMR are the cause of amyloidosis type 9 which is a hereditary primary amyloidosis characterized by localized cutaneous amyloid deposition.
