Describtion

This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique for the quantitative detection of mouse PD-1. The Mouse PD-1 ELISA is for research use only. Not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.

Programmed death 1 also known as PD-1 and CD279 (cluster of differentiation 279), is a type I membrane protein of 268 amino acids. PD-1 is a member of the CD28/CTLA-4 family of immunoreceptors that mediate signals for regulating immune responses. It is a protein found on the surface of cells that has a role in regulating the immune system's response to the cells of the human body by down-regulating the immune system and promoting self tolerance by suppressing T cell inflammatory activity. PD-1 deficient mice have a defect in peripheral tolerance and spontaneously develop autoimmune diseases. Overexpression of PD-1 on CD8+ T cells is one of the indicators of T-cell exhaustion.
