Describtion This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique for the quantitative detection of mouse Eotaxin. The Mouse CCL11/Eotaxin ELISA is for research use only. Not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
C-C motif chemokine 11 (CCL11) also known as Eotaxin is a small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family. Eotaxin selectively recruits eosinophils by inducing their chemotaxis, and therefore, is implicated in allergic responses. Increased Eotaxin levels in blood plasma are associated with aging in mice and humans. Higher plasma concentrations of Eotaxin have been found in current cannabis users compared to past users and those who had never used. Eotaxin has also been found in higher concentrations in people suffering from schizophrenia; cannabis is a known trigger of schizophrenia.
