Components | 96-well polystyrene enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) plate coated with anti-IL-16 monoclonal antibody Human IL-16 freeze-dried standard IL-16 detect Antibody Standard Diluent HRP-labeled streptavidin Assay Buffer(10×) Substrate TMB Stop Solution Washing Buffer(20×) Sealing Film |
Assay Principle | This kit utilizes the double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detection technique.Specific anti-human IL-16 antibodies are precoated on a high-affinity ELISA plate. Standard samples, test samples, and biotinylated detection antibodies are added to the wells of the ELISA plate. After incubation, IL-16 present in the samples binds to the solid-phase antibodies and the detection antibodies. After washing to remove unbound substances, streptavidin-HRP labeled with horseradish peroxidase is added. After washing, a colorimetric substrate, TMB, is added and the plate is incubated in the dark for color development. The intensity of the color reaction is directly proportional to the concentration of IL-16 in the samples.A stop solution is added to terminate the reaction, and the absorbance value is measured at a wavelength of 450 nm (with a reference wavelength range of 570-630 nm). |

Human IL16 Predicted Functions
Enables CD4 receptor binding activity. Involved in positive regulation of cytokine production; positive regulation of inflammatory response; and regulation of calcium ion transport. Located in several cellular components, including Flemming body; focal adhesion; and nuclear speck. Implicated in asthma and prostate cancer. Biomarker of asthma; chronic fatigue syndrome; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; malignant astrocytoma; and rhinitis.

Mouse Il16 Predicted Functions
Enables cytokine activity. Involved in cytokine-mediated signaling pathway. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including induction of positive chemotaxis; positive regulation of chemokine production; and positive regulation of neutrophil activation. Located in collagen-containing extracellular matrix. Is expressed in several structures, including foregut; jaw; limb; respiratory system; and vibrissa. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in asthma and prostate cancer. Orthologous to human IL16 (interleukin 16).
