Assay PrincipleThis kit utilizes the double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detection technique.Specific anti-human β-NGF antibodies are precoated on a high-affinity ELISA plate. Standard samples, test samples, and biotinylated detection antibodies are added to the wells of the ELISA plate. After incubation, β-NGF present in the samples binds to the solid-phase antibodies and the detection antibodies. After washing to remove unbound substances, streptavidin-HRP labeled with horseradish peroxidase is added. After washing, a colorimetric substrate, TMB, is added and the plate is incubated in the dark for color development. The intensity of the color reaction is directly proportional to the concentration of β-NGF in the samples.A stop solution is added to terminate the reaction, and the absorbance value is measured at a wavelength of 450 nm (with a reference wavelength range of 570-630 nm).

Human NGF Predicted Functions

Enables peptidase regulator activity and signaling receptor binding activity. Involved in extrinsic apoptotic signaling pathway via death domain receptors; neuron apoptotic process; and positive regulation of macromolecule metabolic process. Acts upstream of or within neuron projection morphogenesis. Predicted to be located in neuron projection terminus. Predicted to be active in several cellular components, including axon; dendrite; and synaptic vesicle. Implicated in IgA glomerulonephritis; asthma; end stage renal disease; hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy type 5; and interstitial cystitis. Biomarker of several diseases, including artery disease (multiple); interstitial cystitis; lung disease (multiple); neurogenic bladder; and obstructive sleep apnea.

Mouse Ngf Target Information

Mouse Ngf Predicted Functions

Enables transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase activator activity. Involved in positive regulation of DNA binding activity; positive regulation of Ras protein signal transduction; and positive regulation of protein phosphorylation. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including cell surface receptor signaling pathway; positive regulation of cell projection organization; and positive regulation of macromolecule metabolic process. Located in neuron projection terminus. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; genitourinary system; limb; nervous system; and sensory organ. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including IgA glomerulonephritis; end stage renal disease; hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy type 5; interstitial cystitis; and neurogenic bladder. Orthologous to human NGF (nerve growth factor).

Rat Ngf Target Information

Rat Ngf Predicted Functions

Predicted to enable nerve growth factor receptor binding activity; peptidase regulator activity; and signaling receptor activator activity. Involved in several processes, including negative regulation of apoptotic process; positive regulation of ERK1 and ERK2 cascade; and response to ozone. Acts upstream of or within positive regulation of DNA-binding transcription factor activity; positive regulation of neurotrophin TRK receptor signaling pathway; and positive regulation of protein autophosphorylation. Located in extracellular space. Used to study bladder neck obstruction; cystitis; degenerative disc disease; and neurogenic bladder. Biomarker of several diseases, including diabetic neuropathy; hyperhomocysteinemia; mental depression; myofascial pain syndrome; and respiratory syncytial virus infectious disease. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in IgA glomerulonephritis; asthma; end stage renal disease; hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy type 5; and interstitial cystitis. Orthologous to human NGF (nerve growth factor).
