CDH3 Overview
The cadherin superfamily includes numerous cell surface glycoproteins that contain one or more cadherin repeat sequences and are involved in calcium-dependent cell adhesion. Placental cadherin (P-cadherin) is a calcium-dependent adhesion molecule expressed in the placenta, epidermis, and mammary glands. It plays a crucial role in tissue and cellular morphogenesis, growth, and differentiation, and it is instrumental in regulating morphogenesis and maintaining the integrity and polarity of adult tissues. In addition, it has significant implications in the invasion of tumor cells.
