CD28

HGNC ID: 1653

Target Abstract:

CD28 is a 45 kDa homodimer that is expressed on the majority of thymocytes and low levels on peripheral CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, as well as NK cells. It is also expressed on activated splenic cells, mast cells, and thymocytes. CD28 is a co-stimulatory molecule on T cells and serves as the ligand for CD80 (B7-1) and CD86 (B7-2). Signaling through CD28 can stimulate the expression of IL-2 and its receptor and enhance the cytotoxicity of CD3-activated T cells. This antibody can stimulate the proliferation of T cells and NK cells and promote their cytokine secretion.
