Target Abstract: Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are classified into five categories based on their molecular size: HSP110, HSP90, HSP70, HSP60, and small Heat Shock Proteins (sHSPs). HSP90 is one of the most abundant proteins in the human body, with 1-2 out of every 100 proteins in the cell being composed of HSP90. It is also one of the essential molecular chaperones in cells, expressed in all eukaryotic cells, and its expression is 2 to 10 times higher in tumor cells compared to normal cells. HSP90 is mainly divided into four isoforms: HSP90α, HSP90β, Grp94, and Trap-1. HSP90β1 consists of 315 amino acids. This gene encodes a member of the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) metabolism chaperone family, which plays a role in stabilizing and folding other proteins. The encoded protein is localized to melanosomes and theendoplasmic reticulum. Expression of this protein is associated withriouspathological conditions, including tumor formation. A microRNA gene is located within the 5' exon of this gene.Pseudogenes of this gene exist on chromosomes 1 and 15.

Human HSP90B1 Predicted Functions
Enables RNA binding activity; low-density lipoprotein particle receptor binding activity; and protein phosphatase binding activity. Involved in negative regulation of apoptotic process; response to hypoxia; and retrograde protein transport, ER to cytosol. Acts upstream of or within actin rod assembly and cellular response to ATP. Located in several cellular components, including endoplasmic reticulum; midbody; and perinuclear region of cytoplasm. Part of protein-containing complex. Biomarker of lung adenocarcinoma.
