Target Abstract: Interleukin-10 Receptor Beta Subunit (IL10RB/IL-10RB), also known as Cytokine Receptor Family 2 Member 4, Interleukin-10 Receptor Second Subunit, and Cytokine Receptor Family II Member 4, is a key component of the interleukin-10 receptor. Belonging to the cytokine receptor family, this protein serves as an essential accessory chain for forming functional interleukin-10 receptor complexes. Its co-expression with the IL10RA protein is a necessary condition for IL-10-induced signal transduction. Genetic defects in IL10RB/IL-10RB are the cause of inflammatory bowel disease type 25 (IBD25). This is a chronic relapsing gastrointestinal inflammation with complex etiologies, mainly classified into two clinical types: Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Crohn's disease can involve the entire digestive tract from the oral cavity to the anus, most commonly affecting the terminal ileum and colon. It is characterized by transmural, discontinuous inflammation, which may be accompanied by granulomas or intestinal/perianal fistulas. Ulcerative colitis, however, presents as continuous inflammation confined to the mucosal layer of the rectum and colon, usually without fistulas or granulomas. Both diseases may lead to extraintestinal inflammatory manifestations such as those involving the skin, eyes, or joints.

Human IL1R2 Predicted Functions
Predicted to enable interleukin-1 receptor activity. Predicted to be involved in cell surface receptor signaling pathway. Predicted to act upstream of or within negative regulation of gene expression and negative regulation of interleukin-1-mediated signaling pathway. Predicted to be located in cytoplasm; extracellular region; and membrane. Predicted to be active in cell surface and plasma membrane. Implicated in aggressive periodontitis; esophageal cancer; lung cancer; and organ system cancer. Biomarker of aggressive periodontitis; cholangiocarcinoma; and lung adenocarcinoma.
