Target Abstract:
Interleukin 1 (IL-1) is a 17 kDa extracellular polypeptide that is divided into two proteins, IL-1α and IL-1β.IL-1β is the activated form of the protein precursor secreted by activated macrophages and produced by hydrolysis of caspase1 (CASP1/ICE). This cytokine is an important mediator of the inflammatory response and is involved in many cellular activities including cell proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis.IL-1 is an important family of proteins that are derived from biologically activated monocytes and are involved in inflammatory responses and immune responses.Elevated expression of IL-1β produces a wide variety of different autoinflammatory syndromes, the most notable of which is a single-gene condition known as CAPS that is caused by mutations in NLRP3, the inflammasome receptor that triggers IL-1β processing. This kit is used to detect the mature and uncleaved precursor forms of human IL-1&beta.

Human IL1B Predicted Functions
Enables cytokine activity; integrin binding activity; and protein domain specific binding activity. Involved in several processes, including positive regulation of cytokine production; positive regulation of nitrogen compound metabolic process; and regulation of signal transduction. Acts upstream of or within cellular response to organic substance and cellular response to xenobiotic stimulus. Located in extracellular space. Implicated in several diseases, including autoimmune disease (multiple); blood platelet disease (multiple); eye disease (multiple); gastrointestinal system cancer (multiple); and lung disease (multiple). Biomarker of several diseases, including artery disease (multiple); autoimmune disease (multiple); bronchial disease (multiple); lung disease (multiple); and nose disease (multiple).
