Assay PrincipleThis kit utilizes the double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detection technique.Specific anti-human BMP-6 antibodies are precoated on a high-affinity ELISA plate.Standards and test samples are added to the wells of the ELISA plate. After incubation, the BMP-6 present in the samples binds to the solid-phase antibodies. After washing to remove unbound substances, biotinylated detection antibodies are added and incubated. After washing to remove unbound biotinylated antibodies, streptavidin-HRP labeled with horseradish peroxidase is added. After washing, a colorimetric substrate, TMB, is added and the plate is incubated in the dark for color development. The intensity of the color reaction is directly proportional to the concentration of BMP-6 in the samples.A stop solution is added to terminate the reaction, and the absorbance value is measured at a wavelength of 450 nm (with a reference wavelength range of 570-630 nm).

Human BMP6 Predicted Functions

Enables BMP receptor binding activity and protein heterodimerization activity. Involved in several processes, including negative regulation of adherens junction organization; positive regulation of macromolecule metabolic process; and transmembrane receptor protein serine/threonine kinase signaling pathway. Predicted to be located in cytoplasm and vesicle. Predicted to be active in extracellular space. Biomarker of breast cancer; esophagus squamous cell carcinoma; prostate cancer; and renal cell carcinoma.

Mouse Bmp6 Target Information

Mouse Bmp6 Predicted Functions

Predicted to enable BMP receptor binding activity; protein heterodimerization activity; and receptor ligand activity. Involved in several processes, including iron ion homeostasis; positive regulation of signal transduction; and regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including endochondral ossification; male genitalia development; and osteoblast differentiation. Located in extracellular space. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; central nervous system; female reproductive system; sensory organ; and skeleton. Orthologous to human BMP6 (bone morphogenetic protein 6).

Rat Bmp6 Target Information

Rat Bmp6 Predicted Functions

Enables growth factor activity. Involved in several processes, including cellular response to mechanical stimulus; positive regulation of aldosterone secretion; and positive regulation of cell differentiation. Located in cytoplasm; extracellular space; and vesicle. Biomarker of anemia; brain ischemia; and colitis. Orthologous to human BMP6 (bone morphogenetic protein 6).
