Assay Principle This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific for mouse IL-1β has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standard, samples and biotin-linked detect antibody specific for IL-1β are pipetted into the wells and IL-1β present is bound by the immobilized antibody and detect antibody following incubation. After washing away any unbound substances, streptavidin-HRP is added. After washing, substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-1β bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Human IL1B Predicted Functions

Enables cytokine activity; integrin binding activity; and protein domain specific binding activity. Involved in several processes, including positive regulation of cytokine production; positive regulation of nitrogen compound metabolic process; and regulation of signal transduction. Acts upstream of or within cellular response to organic substance and cellular response to xenobiotic stimulus. Located in extracellular space. Implicated in several diseases, including autoimmune disease (multiple); blood platelet disease (multiple); eye disease (multiple); gastrointestinal system cancer (multiple); and lung disease (multiple). Biomarker of several diseases, including artery disease (multiple); autoimmune disease (multiple); bronchial disease (multiple); lung disease (multiple); and nose disease (multiple).
