Assay PrincipleThis kit utilizes the double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detection technique.Specific anti-human /犬/猪Insulin antibodies are precoated on a high-affinity ELISA plate. Standard samples, test samples, and biotinylated detection antibodies are added to the wells of the ELISA plate. After incubation, Insulin present in the samples binds to the solid-phase antibodies and the detection antibodies. After washing to remove unbound substances, streptavidin-HRP labeled with horseradish peroxidase is added. After washing, a colorimetric substrate, TMB, is added and the plate is incubated in the dark for color development. The intensity of the color reaction is directly proportional to the concentration of Insulin in the samples. A stop solution is added to terminate the reaction, and the absorbance value is measured at a wavelength of 450 nm (with a reference wavelength range of 570-630 nm).

Human INS Predicted Functions

Enables identical protein binding activity; protease binding activity; and signaling receptor binding activity. Involved in several processes, including positive regulation of signal transduction; regulation of generation of precursor metabolites and energy; and regulation of protein metabolic process. Located in extracellular space. Implicated in diabetic retinopathy; glucose metabolism disease (multiple); insulinoma; and pancreatic cancer. Biomarker of disease of metabolism (multiple); osteoarthritis; pancreatic ductal carcinoma; and prostate cancer.

Mouse Ins2 Target Information

Mouse Ins2 Predicted Functions

Predicted to enable identical protein binding activity; protease binding activity; and signaling receptor binding activity. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including cell surface receptor signaling pathway; intrinsic apoptotic signaling pathway in response to endoplasmic reticulum stress; and positive regulation of phosphorylation. Located in cytosol; nucleus; and secretory granule. Part of sno(s)RNA-containing ribonucleoprotein complex. Is expressed in several structures, including brain; extraembryonic component; gut; immune system; and testis. Used to study maturity-onset diabetes of the young; neonatal diabetes; permanent neonatal diabetes mellitus; type 1 diabetes mellitus; and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in diabetic retinopathy; glucose metabolism disease (multiple); insulinoma; and pancreatic cancer. Orthologous to several human genes including INS (insulin).

Rat Ins2 Target Information

Rat Ins2 Predicted Functions

Predicted to enable several functions, including identical protein binding activity; signaling receptor binding activity; and zinc ion binding activity. Predicted to be involved in several processes, including negative regulation of catabolic process; positive regulation of macromolecule metabolic process; and positive regulation of signal transduction. Predicted to act upstream of or within several processes, including cell surface receptor signaling pathway; intrinsic apoptotic signaling pathway in response to endoplasmic reticulum stress; and positive regulation of phosphorylation. Located in extracellular space. Colocalizes with secretory granule. Used to study hypertension. Biomarker of Alzheimer’s disease. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in diabetic retinopathy; glucose metabolism disease (multiple); insulinoma; and pancreatic cancer. Orthologous to human INS (insulin).
