Assay PrincipleThis kit utilizes the double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detection technique.Specific anti-human GM-CSF antibodies are precoated on a high-affinity ELISA plate.Standards and test samples are added to the wells of the ELISA plate. After incubation, the GM-CSF present in the samples binds to the solid-phase antibodies. After washing to remove unbound substances, biotinylated detection antibodies are added and incubated. After washing to remove unbound biotinylated antibodies, streptavidin-HRP labeled with horseradish peroxidase is added. After washing again, a signal enhancer is added and incubated. After washing to remove unbound substances, Streptavidin-HRP is added once more. After washing, a colorimetric substrate, TMB, is added and the plate is incubated in the dark for color development. The intensity of the color reaction is directly proportional to the concentration of GM-CSF in the samples.A stop solution is added to terminate the reaction, and the absorbance value is measured at a wavelength of 450 nm (with a reference wavelength range of 570-630 nm).

Human CSF2 Predicted Functions

Enables cytokine activity. Involved in several processes, including cellular response to granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor stimulus; myeloid leukocyte differentiation; and positive regulation of macromolecule metabolic process. Located in extracellular space and intracellular membrane-bounded organelle. Implicated in acute myeloid leukemia; juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia; neutropenia; pulmonary alveolar proteinosis; and visceral leishmaniasis. Biomarker of COVID-19; asthma; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; and temporal arteritis.

Mouse Csf2 Target Information

Mouse Csf2 Predicted Functions

Enables cytokine activity. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including embryonic placenta development; myeloid leukocyte differentiation; and positive regulation of cell population proliferation. Located in extracellular space. Is expressed in several structures, including genitourinary system; hemolymphoid system; labyrinthine zone; liver; and lung. Used to study pulmonary alveolar proteinosis. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in acute myeloid leukemia; juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia; neutropenia; pulmonary alveolar proteinosis; and visceral leishmaniasis. Orthologous to human CSF2 (colony stimulating factor 2).

Rat Csf2 Predicted Functions

Enables cytokine activity. Involved in several processes, including cellular response to lipopolysaccharide; macrophage activation; and response to silicon dioxide. Located in extracellular space. Used to study Parkinsonism and myocardial infarction. Biomarker of abdominal aortic aneurysm; interstitial cystitis; and lung disease (multiple). Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in acute myeloid leukemia; juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia; neutropenia; pulmonary alveolar proteinosis; and visceral leishmaniasis. Orthologous to human CSF2 (colony stimulating factor 2).
