| Assay Principle | This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific for Mouse IL-18 has been immobilized onto microwells, and one pellet of the HRP-linked detect antibody specific for IL-18 (light yellow) is pre-placed in the microwells, sealed by the adhesive film. Standard or samples are pipetted into the wells, then IL-18 present is bound by the immobilized antibody and detect antibody in the incubation. After washing, substrate solution reacts with HRP and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-18 bound by the immobilized antibody. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured by microplate reader. |

Human CSF2 Predicted Functions
Enables cytokine activity. Involved in several processes, including cellular response to granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor stimulus; myeloid leukocyte differentiation; and positive regulation of macromolecule metabolic process. Located in extracellular space and intracellular membrane-bounded organelle. Implicated in acute myeloid leukemia; juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia; neutropenia; pulmonary alveolar proteinosis; and visceral leishmaniasis. Biomarker of COVID-19; asthma; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; and temporal arteritis.

Mouse Csf2 Predicted Functions
Enables cytokine activity. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including embryonic placenta development; myeloid leukocyte differentiation; and positive regulation of cell population proliferation. Located in extracellular space. Is expressed in several structures, including genitourinary system; hemolymphoid system; labyrinthine zone; liver; and lung. Used to study pulmonary alveolar proteinosis. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in acute myeloid leukemia; juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia; neutropenia; pulmonary alveolar proteinosis; and visceral leishmaniasis. Orthologous to human CSF2 (colony stimulating factor 2).

Rat Csf2 Predicted Functions
Enables cytokine activity. Involved in several processes, including cellular response to lipopolysaccharide; macrophage activation; and response to silicon dioxide. Located in extracellular space. Used to study Parkinsonism and myocardial infarction. Biomarker of abdominal aortic aneurysm; interstitial cystitis; and lung disease (multiple). Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in acute myeloid leukemia; juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia; neutropenia; pulmonary alveolar proteinosis; and visceral leishmaniasis.
