Assay PrincipleThis kit utilizes the double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detection technique.Specific anti-human IL-9 antibodies are precoated on a high-affinity ELISA plate. Standard samples, test samples, and biotinylated detection antibodies are added to the wells of the ELISA plate. After incubation, IL-9 present in the samples binds to the solid-phase antibodies and the detection antibodies. After washing to remove unbound substances, streptavidin-HRP labeled with horseradish peroxidase is added. After washing, a colorimetric substrate, TMB, is added and the plate is incubated in the dark for color development. The intensity of the color reaction is directly proportional to the concentration of IL-9 in the samples.A stop solution is added to terminate the reaction, and the absorbance value is measured at a wavelength of 450 nm (with a reference wavelength range of 570-630 nm).

Human IL9 Predicted Functions

Predicted to enable cytokine activity and interleukin-9 receptor binding activity. Predicted to be involved in positive regulation of interleukin-5 production. Predicted to act upstream of or within several processes, including B cell activation; regulation of cellular protein metabolic process; and regulation of receptor signaling pathway via JAK-STAT. Predicted to be located in extracellular region. Predicted to be active in extracellular space. Implicated in asthma and respiratory syncytial virus infectious disease. Biomarker of COVID-19; asthma; cystic fibrosis; lung disease (multiple); and rhinitis.

Mouse Il9 Target Information

Mouse Il9 Predicted Functions

Enables cytokine activity. Involved in positive regulation of interleukin-5 production. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including B cell activation; regulation of cellular protein metabolic process; and regulation of receptor signaling pathway via JAK-STAT. Located in extracellular space. Is expressed in gut; liver; thymus; and thymus primordium. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in asthma and respiratory syncytial virus infectious disease. Orthologous to human IL9 (interleukin 9).

Rat Il9 Target Information

Rat Il9 Predicted Functions

Enables cytokine activity and interleukin-9 receptor binding activity. Involved in positive regulation of cell growth. Predicted to be active in extracellular space. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in asthma and respiratory syncytial virus infectious disease. Orthologous to human IL9 (interleukin 9).
