Assay PrincipleThis kit utilizes the double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detection technique.Specific anti-human MMP-3 antibodies are precoated on a high-affinity ELISA plate. Standard samples, test samples, and biotinylated detection antibodies are added to the wells of the ELISA plate. After incubation, MMP-3 present in the samples binds to the solid-phase antibodies and the detection antibodies. After washing to remove unbound substances, streptavidin-HRP labeled with horseradish peroxidase is added. After washing, a colorimetric substrate, TMB, is added and the plate is incubated in the dark for color development. The intensity of the color reaction is directly proportional to the concentration of MMP-3 in the samples. The reaction is terminated by adding a stop solution, and the absorbance value is measured at a wavelength of 450 nm (with a reference wavelength range of 570-630 nm).

Mouse Mmp3 Predicted Functions

Predicted to enable metalloendopeptidase activity. Involved in several processes, including negative regulation of protein kinase B signaling; positive regulation of oxidative stress-induced cell death; and protein catabolic process. Acts upstream of or within cellular response to amino acid stimulus and regulation of cell migration. Located in cytosol and mitochondrion. Is expressed in several structures, including axial skeleton thoracic region; genitourinary system; liver; oral region epithelium; and palatal shelf. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including artery disease (multiple); carcinoma (multiple); end stage renal disease; osteoarthritis; and von Hippel-Lindau disease. Orthologous to human MMP3 (matrix metallopeptidase 3).

Rat Mmp3 Target Information

Rat Mmp3 Predicted Functions

Predicted to enable metalloendopeptidase activity. Involved in several processes, including cellular response to cell-matrix adhesion; cellular response to interleukin-1; and response to estradiol. Located in several cellular components, including cell body; dendrite; and extracellular space. Part of protein-containing complex. Biomarker of several diseases, including abdominal aortic aneurysm; degenerative disc disease; gastric ulcer; glomerulonephritis (multiple); and primary biliary cholangitis. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including artery disease (multiple); carcinoma (multiple); end stage renal disease; osteoarthritis; and von Hippel-Lindau disease. Orthologous to human MMP3 (matrix metallopeptidase 3).
