Assay PrincipleThis kit utilizes the double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detection technique.Specific anti-human IFN-β antibodies are precoated on a high-affinity ELISA plate. Standard samples, test samples, and biotinylated detection antibodies are added to the wells of the ELISA plate. After incubation, IFN-β present in the samples binds to the solid-phase antibodies and the detection antibodies. After washing to remove unbound substances, streptavidin-HRP labeled with horseradish peroxidase is added. After washing, a colorimetric substrate, TMB, is added and the plate is incubated in the dark for color development. The intensity of the color reaction is directly proportional to the concentration of IFN-β in the samples. A stop solution is added to terminate the reaction, and the absorbance value is measured at a wavelength of 450 nm (with a reference wavelength range of 570-630 nm).

Human IFNB1 Predicted Functions

Enables chloramphenicol O-acetyltransferase activity and cytokine activity. Involved in several processes, including cellular response to cytokine stimulus; negative regulation of T-helper 2 cell cytokine production; and positive regulation of nitrogen compound metabolic process. Acts upstream of or within response to exogenous dsRNA. Predicted to be located in extracellular region. Predicted to be active in extracellular space. Implicated in COVID-19.

Mouse Ifnb1 Target Information

Mouse Ifnb1 Predicted Functions

Enables cytokine activity and type I interferon receptor binding activity. Involved in B cell proliferation; cellular response to virus; and type I interferon signaling pathway. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including cellular response to organic cyclic compound; defense response to other organism; and negative regulation of osteoclast differentiation. Located in extracellular space. Is expressed in embryo and liver. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in COVID-19. Orthologous to human IFNB1 (interferon beta 1).

Rat Ifnb1 Target Information

Rat Ifnb1 Predicted Functions

Predicted to enable chloramphenicol O-acetyltransferase activity; cytokine activity; and type I interferon receptor binding activity. Involved in macrophage activation involved in immune response. Predicted to be active in extracellular space. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in COVID-19. Orthologous to human IFNB1 (interferon beta 1).
