Assay PrincipleThis kit utilizes the double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detection technique.Specific anti-human IGFBP-2 antibodies are precoated on a high-affinity ELISA plate. Standard samples, test samples, and biotinylated detection antibodies are added to the wells of the ELISA plate. After incubation, IGFBP-2 present in the samples binds to the solid-phase antibodies and the detection antibodies. After washing to remove unbound substances, streptavidin-HRP labeled with horseradish peroxidase is added. After washing, a colorimetric substrate, TMB, is added and the plate is incubated in the dark for color development. The intensity of the color reaction is directly proportional to the concentration of IGFBP-2 in the samples.A stop solution is added to terminate the reaction, and the absorbance value is measured at a wavelength of 450 nm (with a reference wavelength range of 570-630 nm).

Human IGFBP2 Predicted Functions

Enables insulin-like growth factor I binding activity. Involved in positive regulation of activated T cell proliferation. Located in extracellular space. Implicated in obesity. Biomarker of Alzheimer’s disease; Kuhnt-Junius degeneration; and obesity.

Mouse Igfbp2 Target Information

Mouse Igfbp2 Predicted Functions

Enables insulin-like growth factor binding activity. Predicted to be involved in positive regulation of activated T cell proliferation and regulation of insulin-like growth factor receptor signaling pathway. Predicted to act upstream of or within regulation of growth. Located in extracellular space. Is expressed in several structures, including brain; early embryo; limb; metanephros; and reproductive system. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in obesity. Orthologous to human IGFBP2 (insulin like growth factor binding protein 2).

Rat Igfbp2 Predicted Functions

Enables insulin-like growth factor I binding activity and insulin-like growth factor II binding activity. Involved in several processes, including response to estradiol; response to estrogen; and response to retinoic acid. Located in apical plasma membrane; cytoplasmic vesicle; and extracellular space. Biomarker of hypertension and hypothyroidism. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in obesity. Orthologous to human IGFBP2 (insulin like growth factor binding protein 2).
