Assay PrincipleThis kit utilizes the double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detection technique.Specific anti-human IL-15 antibodies are precoated on a high-affinity ELISA plate. Standard samples, test samples, and biotinylated detection antibodies are added to the wells of the ELISA plate. After incubation, IL-15 present in the samples binds to the solid-phase antibodies and the detection antibodies. After washing to remove unbound substances, streptavidin-HRP labeled with horseradish peroxidase is added. After washing, a colorimetric substrate, TMB, is added and the plate is incubated in the dark for color development. The intensity of the color reaction is directly proportional to the concentration of IL-15 in the samples.A stop solution is added to terminate the reaction, and the absorbance value is measured at a wavelength of 450 nm (with a reference wavelength range of 570-630 nm).

Human IL15 Target Information

Human IL15 Predicted Functions

Predicted to enable cytokine activity. Involved in several processes, including cell surface receptor signaling pathway; macrophage differentiation; and positive regulation of macromolecule metabolic process. Located in cytosol and nuclear speck. Implicated in aspergillosis; asthma; pleurisy; and type 1 diabetes mellitus. Biomarker of several diseases, including artery disease (multiple); brain infarction; lung disease (multiple); obesity; and viral infectious disease (multiple).

Mouse Il15 Target Information

Mouse Il15 Predicted Functions

Enables cytokine activity. Involved in negative regulation of cold-induced thermogenesis. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including T cell activation; lymph node development; and regulation of lymphocyte activation. Located in cytoplasm. Is expressed in several structures, including adrenal gland; genitourinary system; gut; immune system; and nervous system. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in aspergillosis; asthma; pleurisy; and type 1 diabetes mellitus. Orthologous to human IL15 (interleukin 15).

Rat Il15 Target Information

Rat Il15 Predicted Functions

Predicted to enable cytokine activity. Involved in several processes, including cellular response to vitamin D; positive regulation of tyrosine phosphorylation of STAT protein; and skeletal muscle atrophy. Located in cell surface and extracellular space. Used to study pancreatitis. Biomarker of listeriosis and periodontal disease. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in aspergillosis; asthma; pleurisy; and type 1 diabetes mellitus. Orthologous to human IL15 (interleukin 15).
