Components | 96-well polystyrene enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) plate coated with anti-MMP-9 monoclonal antibody Human MMP-9 freeze-dried standard MMP-9 detect Antibody Standard Diluent HRP-labeled streptavidin Assay Buffer(10×) Substrate TMB Stop Solution Washing Buffer(20×) Sealing Film |
Assay Principle | This kit utilizes the double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detection technique.Specific anti-human MMP-9 antibodies are precoated on a high-affinity ELISA plate. Standard samples, test samples, and biotinylated detection antibodies are added to the wells of the ELISA plate. After incubation, MMP-9 present in the samples binds to the solid-phase antibodies and the detection antibodies. After washing to remove unbound substances, streptavidin-HRP labeled with horseradish peroxidase is added. After washing, a colorimetric substrate, TMB, is added and the plate is incubated in the dark for color development. The intensity of the color reaction is directly proportional to the concentration of MMP-9 in the samples.A stop solution is added to terminate the reaction, and the absorbance value is measured at a wavelength of 450 nm (with a reference wavelength range of 570-630 nm). |

Human MMP9 Predicted Functions
Enables identical protein binding activity; metalloendopeptidase activity; and serine-type endopeptidase activity. Involved in several processes, including cellular response to UV-A; negative regulation of apoptotic signaling pathway; and positive regulation of keratinocyte migration. Located in extracellular space. Implicated in several diseases, including Down syndrome; anodontia; artery disease (multiple); autoimmune disease (multiple); and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (multiple). Biomarker of several diseases, including artery disease (multiple); autoimmune disease (multiple); brain disease (multiple); carcinoma (multiple); and lung disease (multiple).

Mouse Mmp9 Predicted Functions
Enables metalloendopeptidase activity. Involved in negative regulation of epithelial cell differentiation involved in kidney development and response to amyloid-beta. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including collagen catabolic process; embryo implantation; and extracellular matrix organization. Located in collagen-containing extracellular matrix. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; central nervous system; early conceptus; limb mesenchyme; and skeleton. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including Down syndrome; anodontia; artery disease (multiple); autoimmune disease (multiple); and lung disease (multiple). Orthologous to human MMP9 (matrix metallopeptidase 9).
