Assay PrincipleThis kit utilizes the double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detection technique.Specific anti-human TLR2 antibodies are precoated on a high-affinity ELISA plate. Standard samples, test samples, and biotinylated detection antibodies are added to the wells of the ELISA plate. After incubation, TLR2 present in the samples binds to the solid-phase antibodies and the detection antibodies. After washing to remove unbound substances, streptavidin-HRP labeled with horseradish peroxidase is added. After washing, a colorimetric substrate, TMB, is added and the plate is incubated in the dark for color development. The intensity of the color reaction is directly proportional to the concentration of TLR2 in the samples.A stop solution is added to terminate the reaction, and the absorbance value is measured at a wavelength of 450 nm (with a reference wavelength range of 570-630 nm).

Human TLR2 Predicted Functions

Enables several functions, including lipopolysaccharide binding activity; peptide binding activity; and peptidoglycan binding activity. Involved in several processes, including defense response to other organism; positive regulation of cytokine production; and positive regulation of signal transduction. Acts upstream of or within positive regulation of NF-kappaB transcription factor activity and response to molecule of bacterial origin. Located in several cellular components, including Golgi apparatus; cell surface; and membrane raft. Is intrinsic component of plasma membrane. Part of Toll-like receptor 1-Toll-like receptor 2 protein complex. Is integral component of plasma membrane. Implicated in several diseases, including autoimmune disease (multiple); dermatitis (multiple); gastrointestinal system cancer (multiple); lung disease (multiple); and rhinitis (multiple). Biomarker of several diseases, including autoimmune disease (multiple); eye disease (multiple); lung disease (multiple); middle ear disease (multiple); and nose disease (multiple).

Mouse Tlr2 Target Information

Mouse Tlr2 Predicted Functions

Enables lipoteichoic acid binding activity and peptide binding activity. Involved in several processes, including negative regulation of cellular component organization; positive regulation of cytokine production; and positive regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including pattern recognition receptor signaling pathway; regulation of cytokine production; and response to bacterium. Located in external side of plasma membrane. Part of Toll-like receptor 2-Toll-like receptor 6 protein complex. Is expressed in several structures, including brain; early embryo; genitourinary system; gut; and immune system. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including autoimmune disease (multiple); dermatitis (multiple); gastrointestinal system cancer (multiple); lung disease (multiple); and rhinitis (multiple). Orthologous to human TLR2 (toll like receptor 2).

Rat Tlr2 Target Information

Rat Tlr2 Predicted Functions

Enables lipopeptide binding activity. Involved in several processes, including neurogenesis; positive regulation of interleukin-10 production; and response to molecule of bacterial origin. Located in cell body; cell projection; and cell surface. Used to study carotid stenosis; ileitis; keratitis; lung disease (multiple); and renal fibrosis. Biomarker of acute necrotizing pancreatitis; kidney failure; lung disease; pancreatitis; and perinatal necrotizing enterocolitis. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including autoimmune disease (multiple); dermatitis (multiple); gastrointestinal system cancer (multiple); lung disease (multiple); and rhinitis (multiple). Orthologous to human TLR2 (toll like receptor 2).
